What to expect from a Hannah Silver book?

Romance: My books will ALWAYS be non-spicy. That means no on-page sex scenes, even if characters are intimate. At most, all romantic scenes will be fade-to-black, but I typically don't even go that far. (Think PG-13 ratings for movies and you'll have a good idea of what I mean.)

Swearing: I tend to use in-world swears such as "By the Saint," or "Saint's bloody feet!" In the immortal words of my beloved Tamora Pierce: "Insults [or swearing] are the last resort of a man with no vocabulary."

Violence: Make no mistake, my characters fight and fight often. But I won't ever get gory, and I won't go into detail about wounds or death. I do refer to blood, but the mentions are brief. My preference is the fight choreography, not the injuries.

History Inspired: What can I say? I'm a nerd and proud of it. My settings and cultures are always inspired by real history. If you see something in my stories that reminds you of a lesson from 4th period history class, chances are you're right. Come geek out with me in my enchanted world!

Banter: Maybe it's my theatre background, but I love a bit of snappy dialogue. So, I drop it in whenever I can.

Fantasy of Manners: Did you know flowers, fans, and even where you're placed at a dinner party all have meanings? I've been obsessed with etiquette since girlhood, and I layer it into my writing. I find such details add an extra fun peek into my characters personalities and motivations.
